Hi, my name is Debra Jones. I am a lifelong animal lover, and I love helping folks learn to work as a team with their dogs. I take education, teamwork, and growth seriously, but I also love to laugh at the foibles that come with dog training. Each dog and each person is unique, so each dog-handler team is special and one-of-a-kind.
I entered college as a pre-Vet major but later lost my animal-centered way and spent 25+ years in office positions. Just before leaving my last desk job in 2017, I got a new puppy and was seeking to further develop my own training and handling ability. I was introduced to BFF by a happy customer, and I fell in love with the people, the approach to dog training, and the array of class options.
My husband and I have owned and trained Boykin Spaniels for over 20 years. I started Trick Dog training before I knew formal titling was available, and my Boykin Spaniels are the first two ever to have achieved the Advanced Trick Dog title (ATD) through Do More With Your Dog. I love the water and being outdoors, and I am currently training my 4th Boykin, named Happy, for retriever and upland spaniel hunt tests.
